One book is a series of books about a boy called Tom Gates. He likes to doodle a lot (grab a dictionary if you don't know what it means ;) ) during class, at home...and it gives you a nice idea what goes on in this boy's mind. He doesn't like his 'grumpy' sister and he is so 'easily distracted' during class. Although Tom says that just something his teachers think.
One of my favourite stories in this book is 'School trip'. It makes me think of the time I went on school trips when I was at secondary school.
I really like this book because it's not only text but you also see a lot of doodling in the book. That might help you to understand the story better.
If you don't like a lot of pictures in a novel (your own imagination is just enough) or you get distracted easily by the drawings, this book might not be a wise choice.
